Your system is hardwired to keep you safe, not necessarily happy. But there are simple practices you can bring into your everyday life to support your mental, physical, and emotional health. You may do a lot of them already, and knowing more about your body’s processes, especially your hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis (HPA Axis), can be an incredible motivator to keep the good things going. Plus if you ever feel stuck in a stress cycle, you may try some targeted techniques that you’ll learn in this workshop.
In these two hours together, you will learn * how to let your central nervous system know you are safe, quickly and easily * details about how your body’s systems respond to stress * specific ways that yoga and Ayurveda provide ongoing support to your health * how yoga, Ayurveda, and Western medicine can work beautifully together for whole person well-being
When you join us, you will enjoy community, a full practice appropriate for all levels of ability and experience, plus an easy-to-digest presentation led by Yoga Therapist and Certified Health and Wellbeing Coach Kami Kessel, MBA, ERYT500. Working out of Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Kami helps leaders avoid and address burnout. Speaker and author of Mindfulness Meditation for Beginners and other titles, Kami has been practicing yoga since she was seven years old. She blends SomaYoga, positive psychology, trauma informed care, and her years in database product marketing to walk with clients as they reclaim peace in their bodies and minds. Kami teaches community classes at Sankalpa Therapy and Wellness Center and Tula Yoga and Wellness
