
We are seeking stories for the upcoming SUMMER issue of Midwest YOGA magazine, due out August 1st.

The theme of the issue is GROWTH.
Think of this in terms of how we as individuals, the community, and our world can perceive GROWTH. Think of physical, metaphysical, mental, etc.
Please stick to the theme, and keep your stories seasonally appropriate, if that matters, for the article.
DEADLINE for submissions: Friday, June 20th at noon
We especially want pitches from marginalized voices highlighting the BIPOC and LGBTQA+ communities.
Please submit to the following sections:
-Spotlights (highlighting our Annual Partners)
-Lifestyle (music, books, art, travel, community)
-Yoga + Movement (asana, movement, business, philosophy, meditation, karma)
-Health + Wellness (therapeutics, psychology, inspiration, health, Ayurveda, food)
PRIORITY will be given to submissions that will have images or artwork to accompany them.
Your completed submission should include:

Submit your story in a WORD DOC ONLY by the deadline listed above (PDF and google docs will not be accepted) as well as any photos to hello @ amyzellmer. com Submissions received after the deadline will NOT be accepted.
Please submit any photos or artwork that may accompany the article in the same email. DO NOT EMBED THEM INTO YOUR WORD DOC
DO NOT USE photos from sites such as Pixabay, Canva, or google images (even if you purchased them)— we can not use these images for our publication as they have specific licensing agreements. Photos must be either YOURS, or you have explicit permission to use them. Images must be at least 8×10 at 300dpi, which is a minimum of 2300 x 3000 pixels.
Regarding the use of AI … while ChatGPT and other sites are great for helping you clean up your article, please refrain from generating your article with AI to ensure the integrity of the magazine. If we suspect that an article has been written by AI, we will not be able to use it.
Any significant changes to scope, length, or topic must be approved by the editor-in-chief
