Founded in 2006, our Wauwatosa studio is a welcoming space no matter where you are on your yoga and wellness journey.
While working an office job at MIAD (Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design), Melanie Landgraf taught herself yoga by watching video cassette tapes. (Yes, that long ago). In 2004, she traveled to Brazil to complete her 200-hour teacher training as there were very few opportunities to do that locally at the time and the program there fit her interests.
In 2006, at 4 months pregnant, she opened her first studio space in Wauwatosa. She spent 7 years teaching 11-week yoga classes in that small studio, honing her teaching skills, and growing a loyal following. Soon, Tosa Yoga outgrew the small studio, and Melanie and her husband Guy began looking for a larger studio space in Wauwatosa.
Over the Summer and Fall of 2012, they poured their hearts and souls into designing and building the beautiful studio space you know today. After the extensive remodel was complete, it officially opened its doors in December of 2012, where Tosa Yoga Center would continue to grow in staff and welcome even more students.
Now, Tosa Yoga Center is proud to have over a dozen teachers/staff members, offering over 25 in-person yoga classes per week, monthly workshops, as well as an annual 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program.
From everyone here at Tosa Yoga Center, we are incredibly grateful for your support, and we look forward to continuing to grow our community and legacy together.
